There are two types of cut crystals
Crystals are divided into two basic types based on their origin - natural diamonds and industrial stones. Natural crystals are also sometimes called rocks. They are color free minerals, which are characterized by high hardness. Industrial crystals are made of glass. It was not easy to produce industrial crystals with the natural look. The famous Swarovski brand founder, Mr. Daniel Swarovski, developed an industrial scale technology that creates a bright, crystal clear and, moreover, very hard crystal suitable for fashion jewelry. Today, industrial crystal is used by jewelers more often than natural stones.
Swarovski® Rhinestone crystals
Although many manufacturers are trying to produce perfect crystal, only the Swarovski® brand stands out and provides the finest and most wanted crystals. Of course long and hard work of many people and the investment in new developments had to be made by the family business. Currently, Swarovski has about 17,000 employees in 40 countries around the world, of which about 600 employees work in research and development.
Swarovski fine tune their know-how and creates exceptional brilliant and multi-color variants of quality crystal stones. The high shine of Swarovski jewelry is caused by a chemical coating of xylonic acid, which makes the jewelry bright shining in the light even in worse light conditions. Swarovski® crystals are generally known in the world for fine cut and the cut quality. The edges of the faces meet exactly at one point, as do the edges inside the crystal.
Swarovski® crystals with AB effect
Back in 1956, the company Swarovski introduced new technology, Aurora Borealis (further AB), in collaboration with other fashion designer companies such as Christian Dior. AB coating is responsible for the so-called AB-effect, which creates variety of color reflections and changes the colors of the crystal. Visible comparison is with a clear crystal without AB effect, which just look clear white. The clear crystal with AB-effect makes colorful reflections depending on how you make the crystal and what light it gets on it.
Swarovski based jewelry
The interest in jewelry crystals is enormous. Crystals are used in a variety of industries. Designers use crystals in the fabrication of fabrics, luminaires and as a material for interiors. The most notable use of industrial crystals is in jewelry. The Swarovski women's fashion jewelry is designed for everyone, and the men's accessories can also include Swarovski® crystal components. Popular are cuff links handmade with Swarovski® Rhinestones, neckties and wrist watches.
